Vendela is made from 100% recycled polyester with a smooth 10mm cut pile and built-in non-slip rubber backing. Its surface has a softer sheen and a different feel to the wool designs. Both constructions are machine washable.

The collection pairs Zouzou’s distinctive designs with a construction that can be machine washed at home. The six wool designs can be washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with a wool-safe detergent, while Vendela can be washed with a gentle detergent. • How do I clean the Zouzou Rugs x Double Studio rugs?

Each rug is machine washable. For everyday care, vacuum regularly using a soft brush attachment and avoid high suction, rotating brushes and stiff bristles, which can pull at the wool fibres. For spills, blot promptly with a clean cloth and pH-neutral, wool-safe detergent rather than rubbing.

For a deeper clean, wash the wool designs in cold water on a delicate cycle with a wool-safe detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners and high heat, which can affect the wool fibres and cause shrinkage or matting.

The six wool designs will shed, as loose fibres are naturally released from the wool during the early stages of use. Shedding is most noticeable during the first four months, then gradually settles to a lower ongoing level that does not affect the rug’s durability or feel. An anti-shed treatment helps minimise loose fibres, although some light shedding is expected with wool.

If you prefer a rug that does not shed, Vendela may be a better fit, as it is made from recycled polyester.

The two constructions use different approaches to keeping the rugs secure. Vendela has a built-in non-slip rubber backing for added grip.
